Answer to the work question. No. The weight of the object that is being moved would have an effect on how fast it might be moved but not the amount of work being done. In the top animation below the object being moved weighs twice as much as the object in the bottom animation. Both are having the same force applied. The acceleration in the bottom animation is twice that in the top animation. More work is being done in the bottom animation but only because the object is being moved a greater distance. With identical forces being applied, the same amount of work is being done in each case in moving from position 0 to position 10.
